BAE Systems in Sterling, VA is seeking a Summer 2024 Data Analyst Intern with a focus in Knowledge Management. Join our Advanced Analytics Lab and become a member of a diverse, enthusiastic, and highly productive team where each employee has the opportunity to grow their skills and work on rewarding projects for multiple contracts and government customers. The selected candidate work closely with numerous interdisciplinary Analysts and engineering teams by performing the following functions:
- Will conduct in-depth research on emerging technologies and market trends
- Will compile and organize information into comprehensive reporting or summaries
- Will work closely with AAL and Business Development to understand their information needs and provide relevant insights
- Will work with the AAL to streamline knowledge management structure

Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Enrolled student at an accredited four-year college/university having completed a minimum of two years (rising Junior)
- Working toward a Data Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, System Integration (Software) or other degree with suitable data analysis content
- Demonstrated self starter with organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with others
- A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
- Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on product development
- Ability to work collaboratively with remote team members leveraging an application like Microsoft Teams
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Familiarity with Excel, PowerBI, Sharepoint, Confluence and JIRA
- Familiarity with databases and basic query languages
- Ability to analyze information, identify patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions
- Experience working with and creating data architectures
- Proficiency in gathering information from various sources and evaluating its relevance and credibility
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $48620 - $65670
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
