Technical Accounting Senior Manager (Hybrid)

Our Finance & Accounting Team seeks a Technical Accounting Senior Manager, to lead technical accounting review of complex transactions and provide accounting guidance to leaders within the company. You will have a solid understanding of current U.S. GAAP, an ability to research and document complex technical accounting topics, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and able to work independently and follow up on action items.
This is a hybrid position based from our global headquarters in Reston, VA, and will report to the Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting.
What You Will Do:
Analyze unique transactions and prepare technical accounting memos to document accounting positions to ensure proper accounting and disclosure.
Collaborate with other teams (FP&A, Tax, Legal, Operations, Business Developments, etc.) to provide technical accounting guidance on contracts, revenue recognition, disclosure requirements, and mergers and acquisitions.
Monitor and assess the impact of new accounting standards and lead the implementations as applicable to the company.
Take the lead on specific initiatives, including purchase accounting, capitalized internally- developed software, lease accounting, impairment assessment of definite and indefinite-lived assets, accounting of joint ventures, and segment reporting.
Interact with external auditors to respond to information requests and inquiries to ensure that the annual audits are completed on time.
Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly Forms 10-Q and 8-K earnings release, and annual Form 10-K and Proxy statement.
Assist in the review of quarterly earnings press releases and earnings call scripts.
Assist in maintaining and improving SOX compliance related to technical accounting processes.
Provide support on various special projects as assigned by management.
What You Will Bring With You
8+years of progressive experience in technical accounting roles.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related discipline.
CPA Certification.
Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, particularly in areas of ASCs 606, 805, 842, 420, and 718.
Proven ability to identify, research, and resolve complex accounting issues effectively and efficiently.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
