We are looking for a talented business architect who is passionate about creating innovative business capabilities to enable TaylorMade to expand its leadership in the golf industry. The business architect with expertise in financial processes to help develop innovative and leading-edge services, bridging business needs to technology solutions. This individual will drive continuous improvement and will interpret and contextualize strategy for the finance function operational needs; develop specific artifacts such as targeted business capability maps and value streams to help bridge the gap between strategy and execution; and help streamline and rationalize the IT enablement process. While the role will work closely with IT, it is not an IT role.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
- Understand the business strategies and execution models. Identify changes/implications and help recommend new/updated capabilities to the business architectures across multiple functional areas.
- Evaluate key business strategies, objectives, and measurements (i.e., what does the business want to achieve, by when, and how will this be accomplished, and success be measured). Build, align, and maintain resulting reference and target business architecture and capability models.
- Partner with business leaders to help define global business capabilities, assesses the maturity of the current and future state, identify the value from future designs, and align roadmap capabilities across business functions and regions (with timelines to support anticipated business capability needs and strategies)
- Drive global process and systems harmonization and governance supportive of target operating models; track and rationalize process and systems deviations. Help drive overall process automation and improvement to drive business value.
- Contribute to and recommend definition and design of business processes, functions, and organizational structures.
- Research, identify and internally market enabling solutions based on business capability needs.
- Align with business leaders to understand and assess near-term needs to establish business priorities; consult with IT Architects to develop alternative solution options; advise on options, risks, costs vs. benefits, and impact on other business capabilities, processes, and priorities.
- Develop trusted internal customer relationships by exceeding expectations. Build credibility through subject matter expertise and being responsive to customer needs; act as the customer advocate to ensure solution value demonstration to the business.
- Drive process and tool innovation; bring in and disseminate new subject matter knowledge, leading practices, and ideas to engage and influence process innovation.
- Manage worldwide cross functional teams to achieve breakthrough performance. Select and manage vendors of any outsourced services required for scaling business architecture services.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience:
- Bachelors’ degree required; master’s degree with a business process/systems focus strongly preferred
- Proven expertise of financial processes. Certified public accountant (CPA) or equivalent a plus
- 8+ years’ progressively increasing responsibility managing multiple large complex projects in a cross functional environment demonstrating project management skills.
- 5+ years’ leadership experience with demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning and experience developing and implementing strategies for achieving business objectives, organizing, and managing multiple priorities; supporting complex client business capability needs, business process modeling, requirements assessment and solutions development.
- 3+ years in portfolio, program, project and change management, balancing and leading the prioritization of new project efforts.
- 2+ years of experience of enterprise-class architecture concepts, definition, and creation; PMI Certification for Project or Program Management; 5+ years of business or technical consulting experience; and 2+ years of data analysis and use of visualization tools
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Demonstrated business architecture experience in finance and accounting processes, including payables and assets, revenue management, receivables, treasury, collections, expense management, third party partners, tax, and worldwide B2B/B2C channels and financial reporting (US GAAP and internal)
- Business focused leadership and architecture skills with ability to turn business vision, capability needs, and process requirements into business operating and IT deliverables.
- A high level of confidence, integrity, and critical thinking skills, establishing credibility and decisiveness while balancing varying business considerations/priorities.
- Thrives in global and cross-functional team environments with the ability to influence within a matrix environment. Proven ability to build synergistic relationships and interact with management at all levels to influence strategy, priorities, and the use of resources to optimize our return on investments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical users effectively.
- Strong ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams including Information Systems, Human Resources, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing to a successful result.
- Build, develop, inspire, and lead teams to build and continually maintain an effective, rationalized, executable strategic target business architecture that creates and maintains a competitive advantage in the golf industry.
- Strong portfolio, program, project and change management expertise (including methodologies, techniques, and tools) for the effective deployment of resources and achievement of projects in a cross-functional environment. Financial acumen to accurately forecast and manage overall project costs.
- Strong data analytics and data modeling skills and competent in one or more data visualization products (e.g., DOMO or comparable products)
- Strong results orientation (driving to deadlines, financial targets, project goals, etc.)
- Strong knowledge and experience in estimation methodologies, budget management, risk, control, issue, and change management.
- High degree of curiosity and ‘learning agility’ with the ability to readily consume and apply the latest information and concepts with well-developed critical thinking skills.
- Passionate and obsessed with always being better today than yesterday.
- Experience with multi-channel, worldwide consumer branded products industry experience preferred.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
- Normal office conditions, heavy computer use
- Must be able to work extended hours, holidays and weekends as needed.
- Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials with the ability to move up to 50 pounds.
TaylorMade is a performance driven organization and our total rewards approach to compensation is designed to support this. We consider many factors in determining base compensation, including position scope, job related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. The expected annual base pay range for this position is $130,000 - $145,000. Additional benefits, such as health & wellness, performance bonuses, product discounts, holidays, paid time off, etc. may also be offered in accordance with our plans.
