The Director, Strategic Projects Lead & LT Facilitator will effectively act as a chief of staff for the SVP, R&D Digital & Tech - supporting many aspects of leading the team, ensuring that the sum of the parts of RDDT operates more effectively as a whole.
The Director, Strategic Projects Lead & LT Facilitator will have these critical ongoing accountabilities:
Support the SVP in day-to-day execution (in a manner consistent with requirements for a running a strong delivery-focused R&D Digital & Tech function supporting R&D in a significant digital and data ambition) and in day-to-day prioritization (working with assistant to ensure forward looking prioritisation, including alignment to delivery dates).
Facilitate RD Digital and Tech LT meetings and interactions to drive the SVP’s operational and strategic agenda
Oversee strategic initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of senior leadership and departmental heads. For example, strategic D&T programs such as Journey 2 Cloud etc.
Continuous improvement of D&T ways of working
Strategy alignment and centralized reporting: Orchestrate streamlined reporting as required to RDLT, CDTO, GLT and the Board, working with relevant CDTO, R&D and comms teams.
Support in the development and delivery of key Board documents, proof points of value.
Collaborate with R&D to manage key relationships and build a process to enable joint objectives between the CSO and CDTO.
Culture & Engagement – lead team to implement culture and engagement best practices across R&D D&T
Orchestrate talent and people processes across RDDT
Compliance and audit planning: lead proactive and strategic approach to managing R&D D&T audit schedule and ensuring compliance both internally and externally with audit requirements.
How:
Work very closely with SVP RDDT in day-to-day execution
Drive a culture of ’do what matters most’ in all day-to-day interactions, including data driven decision making
Serve as a subject matter expert, handling inquiries and developing action plans to address them, and assisting with the preparation and dissemination of communications
Standing in on meetings as needed for Head of R&D Digital & Tech Portfolio
Challenge ideas and offering a different perspective, and following up on action items with the team accordingly
Why You?
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years’ experience (e.g. R&D, Commercial, Corporate, GMS) and / or exposure to product management in a major global IT organization.
Experience with IT strategy development, solution design, programme and project delivery and service management, across multiple business lines.
Experience delivering business impact through process and IT enabled solutions, across multiple business lines.
Experience of Agile
Experience of vendor management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent relationship management, strong influencing and communication skills at senior level.
Deep content knowledge of GSK R&D or D&T domain.
Experience of engaging to align on strategies and following through on strategy deployments.
