We are searching for a motivated & experiencedJunior Accountant
Responsible for assisting the controller with initiating and monitoring company accounting activities such as bank reconciliations, cash application, financial reporting, general ledgers, A/R and A/P. Provide support to the accounting department by participating in the monthly accounting closing process and conduct other reporting responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but are not limited to the following:
Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
Record monthly journal entries and prepare bank reconciliations
Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures
Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
Prepare monthly account reconciliations
Assist with month-end closing process, maintain schedules in support of year-end close, and assist with audit requests
Perform monthly accruals, adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if necessary
Responsible for bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Communication and interface with other departments to ensure accuracy and operational efficiency
Assist with collection and submittal of State, City and Environmental reporting information
Perform other accounting duties and serving as backup for AP/AR dept.
Requirements
Associates Degree in Accounting
2+ years of experience in Accounting
Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Effective time management skills, self- motivated, critical attention to detail
