Job Title: Ocean Operations Specialist

Company/Industry: Growing freight forwarder

Location: Floral Park, NY

Salary: $45-70K/yr Commensurate with experience + benefits

Position type: Direct Hire, FT On-site

Duties/Responsibilities

• Receive documents and initiate logging process, confirm data received in compliance with all U.S. Customs requirements, process all documents in accordance with requirements, Import and Export. Coordinate cargo availability and arrange pickup and delivery, and finalize billing and distribute documents as required, A-Z process.

• Prepare Import/export declarations (be familiar with ACE/ISF/AES )

• Prepare related export documentation relevant to specific shipments like Certificate of Origin, etc.

Requirements

• 2-5 years'experience handling ocean freight shipments from A-Z.

• Comprehensive knowledge of ocean freight procedures.

• Experience and knowledge of understanding ocean freight service agreements is a plus.

• Must be a good verbal and written communicator.

• Must be detail oriented in all aspects of the position.

• Excellent customer service skills required.

• Being able to multitask at a high level of accuracy.

• Strong work ethic and highly motivated.

• Ability to negotiate with all vendors and good problem solving.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $45,000.00 - $70,000.00 Per Year
