Notre Dame School, as a ministry of Our Lady of Sorrows, has served the Santa Barbara community for nearly 100 years. We are committed to delivering faith-filled, quality education grounded in standards-based curricula, data-informed practices, and tailored instruction better to meet each student’s unique needs and God-given talents. We are currently seeking a dedicated early primary educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of early primary education and demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate concepts to students in an engaging and comprehensible manner. Responsibilities will include teaching a variety of subjects in alignment with school curricula, nurturing students’ spiritual growth, and fostering a safe, inclusive learning environment consistent with the values of the Catholic faith.
Develop and implement lesson plans in alignment with common core standards.
Apply a variety of instructional strategies to help meet the needs of diverse learners
Integrate Catholic teachings and values into the curriculum and classroom activities.
Provide a structured and engaging learning environment
Set and uphold classroom guidelines that align with Catholic values
Offer timely and constructive feedback to students and parents to enhance academic development.
Continuously monitor student advancement and provide interventions as necessary to support individual learning requirements and obstacles.
Maintain open lines of communication with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress, behavior, and academic issues.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance the educational experience and foster a cohesive school environment.
Engage in professional development opportunities to improve teaching skills and stay informed about current best practices in education and Catholic teaching methods.
Serve as a positive role model of Catholic values and virtues for students and the wider school community.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (Teaching Credential preferred)
VIRTUS trained and fingerprinted through the Archdiocese of Los Angeles
Committed to Catholic faith and education
Effective classroom management skills
Wage Range The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
