Summary:
Performs a variety of technical support functions for design engineers, quality engineers, and sales applications engineers.
Is responsible for the troubleshooting/testing of new RF matrices and matrix RMAs on the RF and digital electronic component level. For highly complicated problems performs the repair too. Provides instructions to test technician and manufacturing personnel.
Interacts with customers providing technical information and status on RMAs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sets-up and maintains equipment for an operational Engineering RF and digital development/test lab.
- Working from verbal and written instructions, assembles and tests newly developed electronic assemblies and RF matrices.
- Works with Engineering to develop assembly instructions, wiring diagrams and tooling.
- Writes test procedures and user manuals.
- Performs acceptance tests at the component & system level.
- Tests new hardware, software, and firmware before released to production.
- Assembles and tests new circuit board designs before releasing new printed circuit boards and drawing packages to production.
- Assist Quality Assurance Engineers with testing during First Article Inspection.
- Troubleshoots and repairs RF and digital electronic board assemblies.
- Breadboards and tests new circuit designs before artwork is generated.
- Writes LabView based test software.
- Guides and instructs assembly personnel and test technicians.
Supervision: Does not supervise anyone.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Two years degree in electronics or relevant experience above the minimum required.
- Knows the basics of RF and digital electrical engineering and the working theory and physics of components like resistors, capacitors, inductors, transistors, MOSFETs, amplifiers, basic gate ICs, microcontrollers……
- Knows the basic concepts and theory of RF and RF components like switches, amplifiers, power dividers/combiners, couplers, circulators, attenuators, amplifiers, insertion loss, return loss, VSWR, inter modulation, noise figure, compression, …..
- Knows how to use test equipment like Vector Network analyzers, Spectrum analyzers, Signal generators, RF power meters, Oscilloscopes, DMM, DAQs.
- Familiar with basic communication interfaces like RS232, RS485, GPIB, Ethernet,
- Must have proficient PC skills relevant to the position (Excel, Word, Visio, Power Point, and Microsoft Project).
- Knowledge of software tools like HyperTerminal & PuTTY, etc. is desirable.
- Knows basic concepts and theory of digital components (µControllers, memories, PC motherboards, etc.…)
- Possess excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, to communicate effectively with Company, Customer, and Supplier.
- Is a highly motivated self-starter capable of working independently as well as in group settings.
- Is well organized and able to multi-task.
- At least five years’ experience in electronics testing and test lab setup and maintenance.
- Knowledge of proper RF testing and RF test documentation procedures.
- Familiar with CAN bus communication interface is desirable.
- Soldering skills of thru-hole and surface mount components is desirable.
- Knowledge of LabView programming language is desirable.

Work Arrangement : Onsite
Salary Range : $125,000.00 - $175,000.00
