The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID provides the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) technical expertise for decision support to ensure technical overmatch for the U.S. Armed Forces against any potential adversaries. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled exploring cutting-edge technology and helping government program managers evaluate, select, and manage research programs to transition promising technologies and ensure U.S. military forces retain technological superiority in the future.
SPA has an immediate need for a Travel Coordinator to provide onsite support in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities
The candidate will create and finalize travel arrangements for Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Program Managers. Serve as a primary point-of-contact to initiate, modify, and resolve travel plans, including making changes to existing flight and hotel reservations. Apply extensive knowledge of policies regarding government travel, including booking with contract fares, and serve as an onsite help technician to respond to any travel-related inquiries. Primary responsibility to effectively maintain calendars for supported DARPA staff, including de-confliction between events, send and accept meeting invites, and coordinate visit requests. Assist with planning travel projections and track travel expenditures for program managers. Analyze financial data and present program budget recommendations. Generate military interdepartmental purchase requests (MIPR) and purchase requests (PR) in accordance with agency guidelines.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Active DoD Secret Clearance
4 years of experience that includes assisting with meeting planning, scheduling, and travel coordination
Experience providing support to senior-level government officials, including SES
Knowledge of the Defense Travel System and the information required for processing automated DD forms
Demonstrated proficiency using modern PC computer techniques, systems, and tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Excel
Desired Qualifications:
DoD experience with at least 2 years working within a R&D organization such as DARPA
