Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Support operating company regulatory activities by directing regulatory accounting aspects of various regulatory filings before various commissions
- Provide expert accounting testimony before regulatory commissions including the sponsoring of accounting exhibits and schedules contained in the filing requirements as defined by individual commissions
- Direct the accounting support for operating company regulatory strategy, including preparation of regulatory analysis
- Analyze and research accounting transactions
- Direct the preparation of accounting instructions to other accounting departments as required from regulatory proceedings
- Inform accounting management about regulatory activities
- Direct regulatory accounting support for external audit
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field.
Experience:
- Minimum 9 years in Accounting or 5 years directly related to regulatory or cost based rate activities.
- CPA preferred.
- Some travel required.
- Overtime expected at times during the processing of cases.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong computer skills: accounting software, Microsoft Excel and Word.
