Job Description
**While this position is designated as Remote, the selected candidate would need to be within a 4-hour drive of our Canton Eastern Regional Office in Canton, Ohio due to business needs.**
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Process intermediate and complex vendor invoices for management approval for contract labor and/or material services. Perform invoice audit review per the contract's financial Terms and Conditions for labor and equipment billing rates, subcontractors, materials, Per Diem, escalation, overheads, etc.
Interpret and understand contractual language and financial Terms and Conditions to apply to vendor invoices and contract reviews. Dispute vendor invoices for contractual compliance and interpretation. Provide material service support which includes obtaining and processing quotes, vendor support, receipting, and tracking.
Identify and submit unvouchered liabilities in accordance with accounting policies and SOX requirements. Ensure all policies and processes for accruing unvouchered liabilities are in alignment with the AEP project guidelines. Assist in developing efficiencies to record unvouchered liabilities for un-invoiced vendor services performed. Perform work order administration activities including set up, in-service reporting, and closing.
Ensure that asset retirements are properly identified for timely processing. Resolve errors with Accounting, Project Management, and various other departments within the AEP organization.
Provide assistance to ensure that the proper financial controls are in place for accurate project and work order reporting. Provide business and administrative support for: contract requisitions, bid packages, governance, and contract spend analyses; and creation of templates for business processes and tracking.
Provide support and coordination in the preparation, reporting, and analyses of monthly O&M and capital budgets.
Participate in process improvement initiatives related to financial and operational processes.
Draw from an understanding of processes and systems to assist with training initiatives of employees and contractors related to financial and operational processes and related system and software applications.
Assist AEP Audit Services with vendor and operational audits to ensure compliance with the contract's financial Terms and Conditions and AEP's policies and guidelines. Participate in special studies or projects as may be assigned.
Understand the AEP project management organizational standards and assist in the management of projects to those standards. Adhere to the guidance and standards put forth by the AEP Project Management Governance Committee.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENS:

Education: Education requirement is dependent upon experience as indicated below. Qualified degrees must be in a related field from an accredited university or college and could include Accounting, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technology, or Project Management.
- With a High School Diploma or GED, four (4) years' experience as a Project Financial Controls Analyst Associate (grade 005).
- With a qualified Associate's degree, three (3) years' qualified experience.
- With a qualified Bachelor's degree, one (1) year of qualified experience.
Experience: Qualified experience includes utility specific operations knowledge/experience with a good working knowledge of work processes and procedures. Experience should be in design, operations, planning, project management, cost tracking analysis, forecasting, project budgets, working with accounting principles, and/or construction or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.
License/Certifications: A professional or trade certification such as a CCMP, CETa, IQCP, PMP, RMP, etc. is not required at this level. A certification is required to progress to the Principle (grade 008) level of this job family if you have a high school diploma/GED or non-qualified higher education degree. Otherwise, a certification is preferred at the Principle level.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. Experience with Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft Financials, Business Objects, Cognos, and Maximo is preferred but not required.
2. Qualified professional with demonstrated teamwork capabilities working in a fast-paced environment.
3. Strong commercial, analytical, oral/written communication, and presentation skills are required.
4. Ability to successfully work with a diverse set of internal and external partners and all levels of the organization.
5. Core competencies include: adaptability/flexibility, teamwork/collaboration, communication, and planning/organizing.
6. Annual invoice volume: 50,000 invoices for $1.5 Billion; Unvouchered Liabilities for $2.0 Billion; Annual O&M and Capital Budget for $250 Million.
7. Ability to coordinate multiple intermediate and complex projects.
8. Understand and support the policies, values, principles, structure and behavior of AEP.

$70,961.00-88,700.50 USD
