Summary of Essential Functions
Under some supervision, execute assigned work including setting up and running events.
Assist with the maintenance of the Performance Spaces and its environs
Provide technical assistance at events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Regular assignment as the Falvey Hall, BBOX, and A Box primary technician for AV, light and sound.
Assist patrons at events by performing duties such as collecting admission tickets and passes, assisting in finding seats, searching for lost articles, and locating such facilities as rest rooms
Assist with the setup and preparation for events, classes, visitors, etc.; concert/performance/gallery/exhibit set-up and break down; move objects, furniture, trash, etc. from buildings to various locations.
Monitor the audience and alert the supervisor in charge of any disruptions (cellphone ringing, patrons taking photos, unruly audience member, etc.)
Perform sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and removing of trash.
Provide light and sound technical support in Falvey Hall, BBOX, A Box, and other spaces on campus.
Required to lift, carry, push or pull a variety of tools, equipment and materials; reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and crouch to gain access to spaces, and may involve both indoor and outside work and the use of hand tools and power tools associated with the building trades.
Maintain a clean and professional appearance and demeanor.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of: basic AV equipment and customer service
Skills: clear communicator and problem solver
Ability to: follow instructions, work independently or as part of a team, work well and cooperatively with people from different backgrounds, problem solve, ask questions, think through solutions, work flexible hours, and stand for long periods of time.
Ability to: to perform basic math as well as read, write, and speak English to understand and communicate written/verbal instructions
Minimum qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous theatre experience.
Customer service and event management experience.
Basic knowledge of environmental health and safety; must follow safety rules.
