PromptCare is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in the Home Infusion and Specialty Pharmacy department. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for assisting the pharmacist in providing the highest quality of care for patients in need of specialty medications. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day duties, verifying orders, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring accuracy of medication preparation. Reporting to: Departmental Lead, Supervisor or Manager
Job Type: Full-time, Monday – Friday, eight (8) hours shift 10am-6:30pm
Location: Madisonville, LA

• High school graduate or equivalent AS degree or specialized training desirable
• 1-year related experience with parenteral admixture in Hospital or Homecare Pharmacy
• Must have a Pharmacy Technician Certification
• Computer skills: familiar with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office required
• Knowledge of IV medications and USP 797 preferred
• Good manual dexterity; proficiency with aseptic technique; knowledge of pharmacy admixture
  techniques
• Experience working as a pharmacy technician in home infusion or specialty pharmacy preferred

Job Responsibilities, included but not limited to:

• Performs sterile and non-sterile compounding of medications under the direction of a licensed
• Pharmacist and in compliance with state and federal regulations, current USP standards and
• PromptCare policy and procedures
• Demonstrates understanding of current USP standards and State Board of Pharmacy regulations
• Prepares and tracks outgoing shipments to ensure continuity of care for patients
• Pull, pick and pack supplies and medications for patient shipments, under the direction of a licensed
• Pharmacist
• Coordinates deliveries and performs follow-up calls to patients and /or caregivers, as assigned
• Performs efficient data entry of pertinent prescription information into electronic medical record and
• pharmacy tracking systems
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of the pharmacy clean room in accordance with PromptCare’s
• policy and State Board of Pharmacy regulations, as applicable
• Remain current with State Board of Pharmacy continuing education requirements
• Assists with pharmacy inventories and associated documentation and reporting
• Assists in obtaining and tracking of billing information and documentation
• Ensures compliance with documentation requirements
• Ensures pharmacy compliance with PromptCare’s policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. Requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary and occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing 20 but no more than 35 pounds.
