PURPOSE
This position is responsible for providing support to Supply Chain and the Distribution Center using their knowledge of systems, people, processes and knowledge of the transportation industry. Primary tasks will focus on yard management, carrier communication, store communication and outbound shipping operations utilizing a Transportation Management System (TMS). The Transportation Coordinator will also use various tools (i.e. personal computer, phone, SSC resources, WMS & TMS) to help manage deliveries to stores, DC yard management and help the stores and DC's with their various needs.
MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED (Associate’s degree preferred)
- 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company
- Proven problem-solving and team building skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
- Possess excellent customer service skills
- Able to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Follow proper processes surrounding administrative duties of the warehouse outlined by Warehouse Logistics Manager
- Perform proper record keeping for inspections, audits, and all other files
- Communicate with stores, carriers, store support personnel and dray providers on inbound and outbound shipments
- Work with team members to resolve conflicts and issues
- Coordinate with team members on potential opportunities for success
- Coordinate with drayage providers to deliver daily inbound containers based on priority
- Receive shipment tenders from store support planning team and work with warehouse operations to plan weekly shipments with carriers
- Ship and track outbound shipments to stores and troubleshoot and delivery issues
- Work with the rail yard to deliver proper rail car equipment based on outbound order
- Support operations via WMS/TMS system entry
- Promote tenders to warehouse operations to begin wave picking orders in warehouse
- Promote tenders to assign shipments to domestic carriers based on capacity and system parameters
- Promote/delete backlog of shipments to provide E3 replenishment system with clarity for building shipments each day
- Engage in ongoing training and learning sessions to maximize results
- Planning and timing between operations team and their logistics team
- Activities surrounding inbound and outbound processes
- Communicate ideas for process improvements to management team
WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL, HOURS, ENVIRONMENT)
- This position is hourly, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Physical Work – Ability exert 30 – 60 pounds of force occasionally, and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Store Support Center Associates
Provide leadership and support training on all Safety programs, processes and procedures, insuring that every associate is properly trained for their position.
Follow established Safety procedures in all aspects of work assignments applicable to the position. This includes participating in all Safety related training and acquiring certifications. Each associate is responsible for Safety at the Store Support Center and when visiting other company work locations. All Safety concerns must be brought to the attention of the management of a location and/or the Store Support Center Safety Department immediately.
