The IT Intern is responsible for on-site work in a corporate office environment supporting the technology needs of a multi-site organization. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serves as a technical resource to users in resolving problems with equipment, applications, and data. Provides helpdesk functions to facilitate exchange of information and advice to co-workers. Implements solutions or escalates incidents as required. Support network and computing infrastructure in tandem with internal team and outsourced partners. Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including hardware, software, e-mail, network, file storage and peripheral equipment. Instructs staff in the use of standard business and administrative software and hardware as needed. Documents end user issues and interactions utilizing Nexions service desk ticketing system. Perform daily checks and maintain up-time for all active environments. Performs other duties of similar nature as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Strong customer service skills and customer service orientation. Self-motivated, highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Ability to work well independently and in a team-oriented environment. Strong knowledge of computers, networking principles including wireless networks, troubleshooting PC connectivity and printer issues. Proficiency in MS Office 365 suite, Windows 10 & 11 Operating Systems. General knowledge of mobile device technologies (including Apple iOS and Chrome OS devices). Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present ideas in user-friendly language EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE Perusing a bachelors degree in computer science or a closely related field. Certifications in Comp. Tia A , Net , Sec preferred. Experience in a customer service environment required. This is a part time position and in-person at corporate office (16-20 hrs./week) with a flexible schedule based on academic schedule and business needs.
