Overview
The Regional Retail Sales Manager – Eastern Region is responsible for market development and sales growth within the eastern sales region (New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Washington DC and Quebec), as well as meeting or exceeding the targeted sales goal. This individual has primary responsibility for providing sales, training, and marketing support for new and existing brick and mortar and online retailers, in alignment with the goals and strategies of the Retail division and overall Humanscale company strategy.
Responsibilities
Provide subject matter expertise in positioning, selling, and implementing Humanscale within retailers who fit in our profile.
Achieve and exceed retail operating plans and quarterly/annual sales goals.
Develop and implement strategic plans to grow current accounts and prospect new targets.
Responsible for developing sales action plans for major accounts in each region.
Schedule weekly business planning appointments with current retailers and prospective accounts.
Complete sales activity and opportunity reports, as well as maintain customer contact database.
Conduct sales training with retailers via in-person and Microsoft Teams/Zoom virtual platforms.
Effectively work cross-functionally and advocate for retail accounts with Humanscale Retail Sales and Marketing teams, Product Managers, and Customer Service/Operational teams.
Perform competitive analysis; gather marketing information on customer use and needs for input into development of new products, policies, and programs.
Participate in office sales meetings, project updates and training sessions.
Facilitate and launch new products, as well as support existing product assortment.
Provide support including training and accessing resources for new retail trade programs to interior designers.
Develop strong relationships with the Humanscale Commercial sales team counterparts to ensure marketplace selling and to ensure customer or distribution channel issues are minimized.
Arrange travel schedule; manage travel and entertainment expenses within Humanscale’s guidelines/policy.
Qualifications
Candidate must possess 5 - 7 years of successful sales/marketing to brick and mortar and online partners. New business development into the specialized retail channel and experience in the field of home decoration or office furniture is preferred.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent career experience) is required.
Successful track record of planning and executing on corporate and divisional goals
Experience using CRM systems for account management and regional business activities.
Ability for overnight travel regionally 50%+; valid passport and driver’s license required.
A minimum of 9-12 client meetings per week is expected while travelling. During weeks of home-office work, a minimum of 9-12 online clients meeting and/or telephone meetings expected.
Excellent communication, both written and verbal skills, including creative problem-solving abilities.
Skillful negotiation and presentation abilities, with impeccable follow-up and closing skills,
Self-motivated,
Knowledge and/or experience in furniture retail and/or related product design industry strongly preferred.
Solid understanding of ergonomic principles a plus.
