The Regional Transit Authority gets people moving around New Orleans. Our transit services bring hard-working commuters to their jobs, students to their schools, and fun seekers to entertainment, shopping areas, and restaurants. RTA’s system includes 5 streetcar lines, 30 bus routes, 2 ferry routes, and paratransit services. Our passengers take more than 19 million rides every year.

Transit Operations Supervisor
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises and manages a team and/or management processes including the full range of management duties
Recruits, interviews, hires, and appraises employees (performance evaluations) on their productivity
Delegates and oversees the daily workflow of the department.
Motivates, guides, mentors, and coachesemployees on their development.
Recommends to senior management internal promotions and changes including discipline and terminations of employees by company policy
Performs other related duties as assigned
JOB SUMMARY

Collecting, preparing, and analyzing transit operating data.
Translating and interpreting data impacting key performance indicators and communicating the results to key stakeholders.
Monitoring, evaluating, and supporting projects related to CAD/AVL system data to determineservice compliance.
Leading monthly, quarterly, and annual KPI data collection and reporting activities.
Developing and providing regular and specialized ridership and system data reports.
Providing training and support to different departments on system data usage.
Coordinating work activities with transit operations personnel for field and electronic data collection and data integrity.
Monitoring and supporting system in identifying and tracking improvements to on-time performance on a route level.
Coordinating the collection, analysis, and reporting of key performance indicator data and other BI projects.
Providing support for the identification, analysis, process improvement, and resolution of customer comments.
Responding to public information requests, and national, and industry reporting databases.
Assisting in FTA and NTD data entry and analysis.
Monitoring performance indicators and achievement of incentives and performance improvement monitoring.
Supporting data and analysis for agency key performance indicator functions including safety, customer and maintenance comments, on-time performance, road calls, and ridership
Assisting with the management of special events and special services.
Completing reports and other required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
Coach and mentor operators and other team members on system performance.
Other duties as assigned.

Performs other job-related duties in keeping with the goals and objectives of RTA.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
Master’s degree preferred.
OR any combination of education and experience deemed to be comparable.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of two (2) years of recent experience directly related to the transportation function of a multidivisional urban transit system which includes supervisory experience.
Three (3) years experience performing intensive data analysis; professional transit experience preferred.
Experience with the Trapeze software suite and Clever Devices CAD is strongly preferred.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS/DEMANDS
A valid Louisiana License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
Must submit to a criminal background check, the results of which must meet hiring criteria for the role.
This position has been deemed essential and will serve, when activated, on the RTA’s All Hazards Incident Management Team (IMT) in a Command Staff or General Staff role under the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS). Successful completion of FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) Incident Command System (ICS) training (IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800) is required within 60 days of hire.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work various hours over eight (8), seven (7) days per week.
Must be available twenty-four (24) hours per day, in emergencies.
Must be able to work in various types of weather conditions.
Extended periods sitting at a table, desk, or workstation with the use of a computer, normal visual acuity, and field of vision; hearing, speaking, and color perception; work involves periodic bending, stooping, reaching, standing, and walking; requires dexterity in operating office machines and equipment; periodic need to carry items for short distances weighing up to 10 lbs.
