Requirements / Qualifications
The Baldwin Park Unified School District is seeking for an Assistant Director of Baldwin Park Adult and Community Education. The Assistant Director assists in the coordination and oversight of all Adult Education Programs, including curriculum development, accreditation, grant writing, and mandated reporting; assists in the development of departmental goals, objectives, policies, and procedures; plans and supports professional development and strategies for Career and Technology Education, English as a Second Language, Adult Secondary Education, and Adult Basic Education programs; collaborates with state and federal agencies that participate in Adult Education Programs and local community agencies that provide student services applicable to assigned programs; supervises assigned personnel and supports the fiscal and budgetary procedures of the Adult School; and assists in screening and selection of classified and certificated staff for programs or services. REQUIREMENTS
-Appropriate California administrative services credential.
-Master’s degree or equivalent.
-Five years in education, three of which must have been in teaching, and the other two in coordination, supervision, and/or administration.
PREFERENCES
-Adult Education administrative experience.
-Knowledge of accreditation processes as it relates to program certification and compliance for both the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Council on Occupational Education (COE).
-Knowledge of the California Adult Education Program funding and data collection mandates.
-Familiar with Financial Aid student grants and program approval.
