Job Summary
Research Associate to assist with projects in stem cells and embryology in Zernicka-Goetz’s lab. Candidates should be skilled in all molecular biology & tissue culture techniques, well organized, and excellent communication skills. Candidate should be able to provide guidance to a group of undergraduate students and assist them with their projects.
Essential Job Duties
Provide Guidance to undergraduate students with their assigned projects and help troubleshoot their experiments.
Assisting postdocs with experiments, data analysis, immune-histo chemistry.
Perform other general lab duties with other lab technicians.
Capable of solving both routine and semi-routine problems including assessing and diagnosing the nature of problems while referring more complex issues to higher levels.
Occasionally require an alternative work schedule, with the possibility of weekend work to meet project deadlines or address unexpected issues.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum 2 years of experience in related field & proven track record of practical aspects of the position required.
Experience in stem cells and tissue culture.
Ability to foster good working relationships with members of the lab.
Work productively and efficiently under minimal supervision.
Eager to learn new techniques and methodologies.
Problem solver.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in related field.
Experience in working with stem cells.
Experience with immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy.
Data analysis experience and demonstrable quantitative skills.
