The OR Assistant Nurse Manager will be accountable for working with the Perioperative Services Nurse Manager and Director to provide twenty four hour oversight of nursing practice including staff recruitment, retention, staff performance and counseling, policy/procedure, staffing, performance improvement, staff development and education, resource management and program development. The OR Assistant Nurse Manager will oversee 40 ORs and over 250+ FTEs.

The OR Assistant Nurse Manager will communicate with physicians regarding clinical issues. The OR Assistant Nurse Manager will also communicate with the Surgical Services Director regarding services, guiding orientation and all in-service education for the staff. The OR Assistant Nurse Manager will continually assess, measure and improve departmental performance standards according to HCAHPS customer service benchmark.

The OR Assistant Nurse Manager will assist in directing operations of the Perioperative Department to assure compliance with all regulatory agencies and hospital requirements. The OR Assistant Nurse Manager will work with the department director in assuring collaborative departmental approach to planning care, service design and development of organizational policies and procedures.
