DESCRIPTION
The Availability Engineer will serve as a technical resource in the development of maintenance programs for power and cooling equipment within AWS Data Centers. This individual will be responsible for driving large-scale global projects and initiatives that directly impact availability for our customers. They will continually improve existing programs, while at the same time solve new problems. The role will require an individual who is comfortable operating in a highly ambiguous space and can deliver and define solutions to problems. They will be capable of growing and adapting their skill sets as the team scope changes. It will be expected that this individual is capable of writing one to six page narratives on efforts and present, both written and verbal, up to the Director level.
This role is for Herndon, VA only and not open for other locations. This is an on-site role.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of power and cooling data center experience
- Experience developing preventative maintenance programs
- Capable of writing one to six page narratives
- Technical product or program management experience
- Experience managing programs across multiple stakeholder teams
- Comfortable working in a highly ambiguous, constantly changing environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate level degree
- Experience automating processes and defining business requirements for software developers
