What you’ll be doing:
Manage all aspects of air freight forwarding operations, including booking, documentation, shipment tracking, trouble shooting and delivering on customer expectations.
Lead and motivate a team of freight forwarding specialists to achieve performance targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize air cargo operations, improve efficiency, and deliver quality customer experience.
Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, air terminals, and other service providers to ensure smooth cargo movement.
Review and negotiate air carrier contracts based on volume and encourage core air carrier utilization.
Participate in SOP development and review for new volume customers.
Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes affecting air freight transportation, and implement necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
Oversee the resolution of customer inquiries, complaints, and issues related to air freight shipments in a timely and professional manner.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and training to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Ensure strict adherence to safety, security, and quality standards in all air freight operations.
What you need:
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in air freight forwarding, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Profound knowledge of air freight operations, including booking procedures, cargo handling, and regulatory requirements.
Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team building, performance management, and employee development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
Proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and make sound decisions under pressure.
Familiarity with freight forwarding software and industry-specific technology tools.
