What You Will Achieve

The Associate Scientist is responsible for providing laboratory equipment support for the execution preclinical and clinical serology studies to support vaccine development & clinical studies. This work will be performed within the Robotics and Automation area of the Clinical Immunology & High-throughput Operations (CIHO) group within Pfizer Vaccine Research & Development (VRD). The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing daily, weekly or monthly equipment maintenance. In addition, the associate scientist may train other analysts. All work is to be performed in a compliant manner, according to applicable standard operating procedures (SOP) and cGxP guidelines, as required.
Position Responsibilities
1. Perform routine maintenance of multiple types of laboratory equipment. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, periodic equipment maintenance, troubleshooting of equipment issues, requesting work orders for equipment repairs and timely communication with assay groups.
2. Complete required documentation for all laboratory work. This includes the use of laboratory information management systems and/or paper forms.
3. May train other analysts on established, basic technologies that he/she has become proficient. May participate in the qualification of new instruments following established protocols or scripts.
4. Satisfactorily complete all required laboratory, cGxP and safety training, in conformance with departmental requirements.
5. Where applicable, perform job responsibilities in compliance with cGxP and all other regulatory agency requirements.
Technical Skill Requirements
1. Laboratory experience in a relevant field of science including but not limited to microbiological techniques acquired in academic/industrial setting.
2. Strong communication and computer/technical skills.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $54,700.00 to $91,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
