The Position
The UX/UI Designer will play a pivotal role in shaping the UX/UI customer experience, by designing intuitive and engaging user interfaces, focusing on how users interact with our technology and channels. This position involves working closely with UX/UI research and experimentation teams to develop a deep understanding of customer preferences and behaviors, identify pain points and create solutions through experimentation and design thinking.
Relationships
Reports to Customer Experience and Human Centered Design Lead. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including marketing teams, behavior science, analytics, and technology, to ensure alignment between design and business objectives.
Essential Functions
- User Interaction Understanding: Understand how users interact with our technology and digital channels. Work closely with the UX/UI researchers and behavioral science researchers to incorporate user feedback and research findings into design iterations
- Front End User-Centric Design: Lead the design of user interfaces for various channels and technology platforms, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience. Leverage user-centered design principles to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces. Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that align with user needs and business objectives. Ensure designs comply with accessibility standards
- Front End User Experience Enhancement: Utilize insights from user data to implement innovative design solutions that address user pain points and enhance the overall interaction experience within the front end. This includes interactive web design along with other channels to create a seamless and unified experience
- Experimentation and Testing: Assist in the design of experiments based on behavior science and customer feedback insights, including validation of experiment design and creation of UI/UX design to support experiments. Create design prototypes to visualize and test design concepts as well as understand how different channels and designs flow together across channels. Iterate on designs based on user feedback and performance analytics
- Experience Optimization: Ensure that user interfaces align with cognitive and behavioral norms for optimal engagement. Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on user feedback and evolving UX/UI research or trends
- Design Documentation and Standards: Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems and guidelines to ensure a cohesive and consistent user experience across all channels and platforms. Document design decisions, guidelines, and style libraries for reference. Include information on experiments, optimizations and outcomes
- Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality design assets
Physical Requirements
Approximately 20-30% overnight travel.
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree in Interaction design, UX/UI design or related field preferred
- 8+ years of experience, including demonstrated history in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio showcasing interaction design projects
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, or other relevant software
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation in design strategies and stay ahead of industry trends
- Experience conducting user testing and utilizing feedback to inform design decisions
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and articulate design decisions to stakeholders
- Experience with accessibility standards and designing for inclusive user experiences preferred
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively
- Embodies leadership behaviors, including authenticity, servant leadership, will, empathy, decisiveness, and driving focus and simplicity
- Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives that enhance user experience through conception to innovative design and execution
- Strategic Planning, Execution and follow-through skills
