The Department of Education in the School of Education & Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University invites applicants for part-time lecturer positions in 2024-2025. The department has graduate programs in Teacher Education and Educational Leadership. Selected candidates will have expertise or teaching experience in one or more of the areas listed above.
Basic Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Education or related field
- Spanish Language proficiency
- Ability to teach in Spanish
Selected candidates will have expertise or teaching experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Teacher Education: Multiple Subject and/or Single Subject
- Bilingual Education
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral level and licensed candidates preferred.
Fulfill all responsibilities associated with teaching assigned courses, including but not limited to:
- Teach no more than two courses per quarter, and no more than four courses over three academic quarters (fall, winter, spring).
- Conducting and appearing at all assigned class meetings in a timely and prepared manner that demonstrates a command of the discipline and skill in presenting it effectively;
- Assigning and evaluating assignments that align with the course description and course learning outcomes, and providing timely feedback to students;
- Holding regular weekly office hours;
- Submitting student grades that are appropriate, accurate and fair measures of student performance to the Office of the Registrar by the designated deadline;
- Administering numerical and narrative evaluations for all courses;
- Teaching from an approved syllabus or working with the Chair to design an appropriate syllabus.
- Fulfilling other academic duties as may be assigned by the Chair of the Department of Education
- Work with bilingual coordinator to collect, organize, and store clinical service hours (20 hours) for bilingual teachers in designated SCU drive.
