Department Summary Surpassing network limitations of the past, our Wireless Deployment organization is building the country’s first cloud-native, standalone 5G wireless network. Job Duties and Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: The Transport Specialist will manage all activities related to implementation of transport circuits within a given market including but not limited ot the following: Review and analyze telco ready requirements and ensure that they are properly defined for construction team Manage periodic meetings with transport/utility vendors to ensure that circuits and power are delivered on time Work with market deployent teams and transport/utility vendors to conduct site visits and ensure that NTPs are issued to vendors promptly Attend deployment meetings regularly to provide updates on transport and power implementation Establish excellent relationships with transport and power vendors at the market level Intake circuit designs and expedite ordering and testing related activities with transport engineers and provisioners Work with construction teams, tower owners, and fiber providers to establish meet me points and create fiber path designs Plan and coordinate transport and power requirements for special events, DAS and small cell projects. Work with local power companies to obtain power design for cell sites. Attend power design walks with utility providers/vendors to ensure power design is feasible. Skills, Experience and Requirements Education and Experience: The successful Transport Specialist will have: 2 - 4 years in the Telecom Industry, with 2 years of fiber/power delivery experience desired; bachelor's degree or equivalent combinaton of education/experience Basic comprehension of wireless data and voice network architecture Advanceed knowledge of transport/power implementaton Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite Ability to identify and comprehend complex problems/issues and develop solutions Strong written and oral communication skills Excellent attenditon to details Strong organizational and analytical skills Excellent attention to details Able to work independently and within a team Able to conduct and effectively manage internal or external meetings with vendors to drive and track activities and progress whle pressing to keep original FOC dates. Skills and Qualifications: Able to read blueprint drawings Understanding of Electrical power systems and cell site design Understanding of Fiber/Transport designs including Microwave paths/designs Proficient at Excel - tracking and editing/updating Able to work in fast paced environment Basic understanding of Site Acq process as related to building cell sites.
