Compensation includes a base salary of $70,700.00 - $106,100.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. As the Manager for our battery recycling operation, you will play a pivotal role in organizing and managing transactions, overseeing account management processes and tracking operational performance. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills, business acumen, operational know-how and a passion for sustainability. Partner and work with business partners across EV Battery and Cox Automotive, including but not limited to Sales and Sales, Sales Engineering, Operations and Engineering

Job and Responsibilities:
Business Development Strategy:
- Develop and track a comprehensive business development strategy to expand the reach of our battery recycling operation.
- Identify new business opportunities and potential partnerships to enhance market presence and revenue growth.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform strategic decision-making.
Transaction Management:
- Lead the negotiation and execution of transactions related to battery recycling, partnerships, and procurement contracts.
- Ensure all transactions comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as operations and finance, to streamline transaction processes and optimize efficiency.
- Teach and train?the Sales organization to respond to OEM quotes?and?RFX’s.? ?Work with Sales Engineering and deal management to review and determine?pricing.
Account Management:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key accounts (non OEM), including battery manufacturers, intermediaries and recycling facilities.
- Develop customized solutions to meet the specific needs of individual clients and maximize customer satisfaction.
Market Expansion:
- Identify opportunities to expand the geographic footprint of our battery recycling operation.
- Evaluate potential markets and develop market entry strategies based on thorough market research and analysis.
- Establish and nurture relationships with stakeholders in target markets to facilitate expansion efforts.
Operations Reporting and Analysis:
- Monitor, track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the recycling operation
- Support process and program standardization
- Monitor, track and report on the pipeline and success of business development initiatives.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting performance metrics, market insights, and strategic recommendations.
- Utilize data-driven insights to continuously optimize business development strategies and improve operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 6 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a Master's degree and 4 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year experience in a related field; or 10 years’ experience in a related field.
- 1+ year of experience in management or lead role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in the recycling or environmental industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to close deals effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for sustainability.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to battery recycling is a plus.
Working Environment
Variable, consisting of both the office environment and the manufacturing floor. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection and sanitary footwear.
