HOW A DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Participates in the design, creation, and maintenance of computerized databases.
Responsible for the quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.
Works with management to develop database strategies to support organization requirements. Consults with and advises users on access to various databases.
Works directly with users to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage. Directs the maintenance and use of the corporate data dictionary.
Performs MS SQL Server and other DBMS database and application server administration.
Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security, availability and integrity of the Database Management System (DBMS).
Creates and updates SSPs, CKLs and other documentation for the accreditation of the DBMS on classified networks.
Completes performance analysis, tuning, and index maintenance. Adjusts advanced settings of Microsoft SQL Server and other DBMS to optimize functionality.
Builds new Microsoft SQL Server Instances within on-premise architecture collaborating with other teams (Storage, Domain, Systems) to implement industry best practices.
Automates routine administration tasks and updates continuity documents.
Implements and manages High Availability and Disaster Recovery features for MS SQL Server.
Performs database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance, availability and compliance with organization requirements.
Verifies and develops database backup, storage, and replication schemes across the enterprise meeting the organization’s recovery time objective and point time objective.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Experience with MSSQL Server 2012, 2017 and newer.
Experience identifying and resolving database problems.
Familiarity with Microsoft Service Manager.
Self-motivated, Highly organized individual with ability to proactively identify problems, meet deadlines, work with various application managers, prioritize tasks and work independently.
Familiarity with SolarWinds DPA.
Effective in communication skills.
Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract
IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent
Required Computing Environment certification: MCSE Data Management and Analytics [MS SQL Server] Exam 70-762 or Exam 70-464, or Exam 70-465, or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract
Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity
Travel may be required to support the mission

The likely salary range for this position is $117,300 - $158,700. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
