This is a promotional/open opportunity, which means that current monthly-salaried employees receive precedence over other candidates on the eligible list.For a promotional/open posting, the top ten internal applicants will be provided unless there is an insufficient number and then the list will be supplemented with the top external applicants to make up the ten (Employment Regulations for the Classified Service of the San Diego Unified School District: Article 2, Section 9).
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Director, Risk Management, perform highly technical administrative duties related to the establishment and development of the District’s Return-to-Work (RTW) program; coordinate, facilitate, and monitor the successful return-to-work of industrially and non-industrially injured or ill District employees within appropriate guidelines; develop contacts with District supervisors and staff to introduce and maintain the RTW program; and ensure medical, legal, and accreditation standards are maintained.
This Return-to-Work Coordinator will be paid on the OTBS Salary Schedule, Salary Grade: 054. To view the OTBS salary schedule: click here

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to an Associate’s degree and five (5) years of recent, full-time, progressively responsible related experience in a public or private organization. At least one (1) year of return-to-work or job accommodation experience preferred. Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMC), Certified Case Manager (CCM), Certified Vocational Evaluator (CVE), Licensed Social Workers (LSW), and/or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) highly preferred.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a current valid California driver’s license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided).
