Under general supervision, performs duties at journeyman level electrical in the construction, alteration, maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment and related systems; may supervise helpers at a lower level; must be available for after hours, weekends and emergency calls; performs other work as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The outcome of the Skilled Maintenance Specialist - Senior Electrician's job performance will be as follows:
Light fixtures, masters, control transformers thermostats, power equipment, switches, wiring and outlets will have been checked/repaired/replaced.
New services, outlets, switches,lighting, electrical panels, supply for air-conditioners, heaters, furnances, boilers wiring and duct/conduit will have been installed/repaired/replaced.
Intercom telephones, speakers, signal apparatus, wiring, conduits and other equipment will have been installed/repaird/replaced.
Master clocks, clocks, bells, horns, wiring, conduit and associated equipment will have been checked/repaired/replaced.
Fire alarm, bells, horns, buzzers, control panels, wiring and associated equipment will have been checked/repaired/replaced.
Other work as required will have been done.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Equivalent to graduation from high school.
Experience: Four (4) year of journey-level experience in electrical trade, in addition to completion of an apprenticeship or its equivalent. One (1) year of successful supervision.
Knowledge of: Plans and specifications; standard practices, processes, materials hand and power tools of the electrical trade; safety practices and regulations pertaining to the electrical trade; applicable city, county, state and federal codes.
Ability to: Read plans and specifications; use tools and machinery of the trade; safety lift carry tools and materials; safely climb ladder and work at heights off scaffold; carry out oral and written instructions; work effectively with others; Lead other electricians in accomplishing work safely, promptly and satisfactorily; other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities.
License: Possess and maintain a valid California operators license to operate district vehicles and determined by the District and liability insurance carrier.

Appointment: * Classified Bargaining Unit Position * Must have knowledge and ability to repair high voltage electrical systems * In accordance with Education Code Section 45301, an employee appointed to this class must serve a probationary period of six (6) months, at which time an employee must demonstrate at least an overall satisfactory performance. Failure to do so shall result in the employee's termination.
