Job Description: ECS is seeking talented professionals who love a challenge to join us in building the next-generation Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Cyber data solution. The CDM Program is the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) dynamic approach to strengthening the cybersecurity of Federal networks and systems through better awareness and visibility into their security posture and cyber threats. ECS is responsible for designing, building, deploying, operating, and maintaining a complete ‘Data Services’ solution which includes the collection, normalization, visualization, and sharing of cyber data from more than 100 Federal agencies. The CDM Data Services product is a cloud-hosted solution comprised of multiple Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS), software configuration packages, and custom code which work together to operate as an integrated solution tailored to meet DHS requirements. ECS is seeking a talented Solutions Architect to serve as an Architecture and Capacity Planning Lead. Effective architecture begins with a deep understanding of requirements and customer needs and matches them with technology and processes aligned with architecture principles. The Solutions Architect will manage enterprise architecture efforts to include high level system design, prototyping, proofs of concept, and future state architecture solutioning. The successful candidate will work closely with technical leaders, program leads, and solution engineers to support efforts by ensuring best practices and effective engineering when modernizing and delivering the solution. The ideal candidate will be capable of validating initial stakeholder requests, evaluating technologies, and providing feedback and guidance on various aspects of solution design. This role will involve working across teams with the goal of providing design context to help define and deliver solution capabilities. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a deep understanding of technology and be capable of building proofs of concept to demonstrate functionality along with supporting technical documentation. Motivation to explore problems to find creative solutions and grow existing skillsets is a must. Required Skills: - US citizenship and ability to acquire Public Trust Suitability
- A Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of experience managing, designing, building, and implementing enterprise technology solutions
- At least 2 years of experience in requirement definition based on engineering plans
- At least 4 years of experience with Private, Commercial, and Hybrid Cloud deployments
- At least 4 years of experience with data management technologies
- Experience rationalizing and deploying cloud native services
- Experience integrating multiple information systems, such as application integration utilizing standard or custom API interfaces
- Experience producing technical documentation to communicate system designs and technological analysis
- Experience leveraging security best practices for system integration and design, such as NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
Desired Skills: - At least 4 years of experience developing solutions on Cloud Service Providers (CSP), specifically AWS
- Familiarity with Government Cyber Mission Space and legal constraints applicable to civilian Government Agencies (FISMA, FIPS, SecOps, etc.)
- Experience with DevSecOps
- Experience with Elastic Cloud Enterprise and other Elastic products
- Experience in assessment, evaluation, and documentation of client environment, infrastructure, process, operations
- Experience in data modeling, visualization, metric dashboards, and other reporting systems
- Understanding of DHS CDM Program and understanding of cybersecurity requirements and mandates
- Understanding of program languages and limitations they may have on implementation of systems to include, but not limited to, Python, Java, etc. and additional software development best practices for system consideration
