Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director ESG Financial Reporting to join our team. The AD, ESG Financial Reporting will be responsible for managing the company's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) accounting, reporting, and compliance functions. This role will play a crucial part in advancing our commitment to sustainable business practices and maintaining transparency in our ESG initiatives
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement ESG accounting policies and procedures in accordance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including finance, HR, procurement, environmental safety & health, legal, and compliance teams, to ensure accurate and timely ESG data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Oversee the preparation and dissemination of ESG reports, including annual sustainability reports, ESG disclosures, and other relevant documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with external auditors and consultants to ensure the integrity and accuracy of ESG data and reporting processes.
Stay informed about emerging ESG trends, regulations, and disclosure frameworks to continuously enhance the company's ESG program and reporting practices.
Lead ESG training and awareness initiatives for employees to promote understanding and engagement with ESG principles and practices.
Participate in industry forums, working groups, and collaborative initiatives related to ESG reporting and disclosure standards.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, sustainability, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, GRI) preferred.
8+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or ESG management, with a demonstrated track record of success in a similar role.
Deep understanding of ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting guidelines (e.g., CSRD, GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, SEC).
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights effectively.
Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
Strong understanding of SOX 404, COSO Framework, and/or Internal Controls over Financial Reporting in a public company environment (biotech industry preferred)
Commitment to environmental and social responsibility, with a passion for advancing sustainability goals within the organization and broader community.
Ability to understand and navigate complexities of safeguarding internal, sensitive information with balancing external disclosures requirements including applying judgement to materiality assessments
