Position Summary
Under very general supervision, represent and market NYU Steinhardt's on-campus and online programs to potential students at on-campus, virtual and off-campus recruitment events; cultivate relationships with students to encourage a positive response and interest in attending NYU Steinhardt and promote NYU and its schools and programs. Assist with the achievement of University, geographic, and department enrollment targets by encouraging qualified students to apply to NYU Steinhardt. May recommend borderline applicants to academic departments and Admission Committee for further consideration. Advise and communicate heavily via email with prospective students on the application process, University and School programs, academic requirements, financial aid options, housing, and other student services. Additionally, under the guidance of the COO/Associate Dean, oversee the administration of undergraduate school-level admissions, including communication of updates between central’s UG Enrollment Management team and Steinhardt program directors and administrators, data provision and report generation and recommendations for updates to improve internal systems and processes. Work closely with the Office of Student Affairs, Communications and Marketing, and relevant program faculty and department administrators to support related admissions events initiated by Undergraduate Enrollment Management.
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: 2+ years admissions or related student services experience.
Preferred Experience: Experience evaluating international credentials for U.S. equivalency. Experience with admissions for both undergraduate and graduate programs.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to promote the University and to work independently as well as part of a team. Outstanding interpersonal, public speaking, and writing skills. Ability to handle sensitive situations and/or people. Valid drivers license. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel moderately. Ability to market diverse programs and serve as a liaison between admissions and academic program officers.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $65,000 to USD $75,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
