BMC is led globally by Karen Hopkins. The function is made up of over 2,000 professionals, working across the Executive and Regions in the following areas of specialism: Brand; Marketing; PR/Media Relations & External Communications; Internal Communications & Employee Engagement; Corporate communications.
BMC also includes a number of teams who are responsible for content development, editorial, webcasts, events-staging, strategy, planning and operations. The opportunity
The EY Global Media Relations and Social Media team is seeking an experienced and motivated PR and social media associate to join its award-winning team. Working in a flexible model, the supervising associate will work with the Service Line PR leads to provide a range of PR and social media support.
PR responsibilities and tasks may range from advising on PR initiatives to support programs, media relations and writing press releases, briefing packs, messaging, op-eds, blogs, results reports and more. Social media tasks may include advising and supporting senior EY leaders with personal social media profiles, creating social media content for corporate accounts, commissioning and approving creative assets – graphics and videos.
The supervising associate may also be required to work directly with business and BMC stakeholders and recommend and execute various plans and initiatives across multiple programs. Overall, the supervising associate is agile and able to quickly and easily flex from one portfolio to another – supporting or leading programs as needed.
The dynamic self-starter has the intellectual rigor and curiosity to work with complex and/or technical subject matter to create compelling and headline-grabbing media stories that work across the world. The ideal candidate is an experienced, organized, proactive, energetic, detail-oriented professional who enjoys a mix of planning, practical execution through to measurement.
Your key responsibilities
- Work with the Service Line PR leads across the four service lines portfolios to deliver measurable results and programs
- Cultivate relationships with target media as needed and secure media coverage on key programs/initiatives as required
- Bring fresh ideas and thinking to the team; remain current on PR and relevant trends and embed in PR strategy and execution
- Work with SL and BMC leadership as needed – either as a team with the PR lead or independently as required – to lead programs
- Prepare press releases and other support materials as needed (such as talking points, media briefings, Q&A, pitches)
- Support SL social media – creating engaging and creative social media content and support all aspects from creation, approval, scheduling and reporting across social. Support SL leaders with social as required
- Continue to develop PR and social skills – taking advantage of EY and industry learning modules and learning from the more senior/specialist team members
- Work across time zones and communicate regularly with the EY global PR network, informing them of appropriate initiatives and briefing them where appropriate
- Draft regular progress reports for EY global leadership on PR activity and metrics as needed

To qualify for the role you must have
- Minimum five years media relations and social media experience working in-house or agency; also experience working with corporate, financial or professional services organizations is advantageous
- Experience managing high-profile events, ideally global events that involve a large number of countries
- Experience working with senior executives and managing individuals’ media profiles
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity, as this role will involve daily interaction with people in countries around the globe.
- A passion for current affairs and business news that translates into an ability to drive a vision and newsjacking opportunities.
- Experience in the B2B or professional services space and with major global brands.

What we offer
The compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary range/s. We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $71,700 to $130,100. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $86,000 to $147,900. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
