Responsibilities:
Mechanical Reliability Engineer - Fixed & Rotating for the world's largest VAM unit at Clear Lake site located in Pasadena, TX.

Responsibilities and Duties
Provides technical and engineering support on both Fixed and Rotating Equipment Reliability issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze equipment performance and identify potential failure points. (Operations, Maintenance, and other Discipline Engineers)
Communicate technical problems and/or opportunities in terms of business risk with a ‘Case for action’ that includes mitigations/proposed solutions.
Perform detailed root cause analyses to understand equipment failures and develop effective solutions. Lead reliability investigations including action plan implementation.
Implement predictive maintenance strategies to optimize equipment efficiency and reduce downtime utilizing advanced condition monitoring techniques to track machinery health and take proactive measures.
Work with Reliability Manager to lead efforts to integrate reliability-centered maintenance practices throughout the production process.
Consult with internal technical experts, vendors, or outside consultants when necessary. Conduct vendor shop visits and repair oversight .
Scope improvement projects including management of change (MOC) activities
Support effective execution of maintenance and turnaround workflows
Qualifications:
Required:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
6+ years experience in a manufacturing facility (preferably chemical or petrochemical manufacturing)
5+ years of experience with Fixed Equipment within the chemical industry.
2+ years of experience with Rotating Equipment within the chemical industry.
Proficiency in reliability tools such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and condition monitoring techniques.
Strong analytical & problem solving skills, with attention to detail. Demonstrated experience problem solving and troubleshooting on a variety of systems.
Able to create a plan, and deliver results on time and to expectations.
Can work independently and drive team goals forward. Ability to conduct and lead meetings.

Critical Joint Identification
Hot Tap Experience
Welding on Live Equipment
Familiarity with predictive and preventive maintenance methodologies.
Working knowledge of SAP or other Computerized Maintenance Management Systems. (CMMS)
