The Senior Academic Success Coach is trained in both academic advising and success coaching and supports students in both areas. This staff member serves as a training specialist for both the College Advising team and the Success Coaching team and is responsible for identifying training needs, developing training materials and facilitating training in holistic student support. Provides training, and guidance, to new advisors and coaches as well as professional development opportunities and trainings beyond the onboarding period. Develops performance assessments and testing materials to assess satisfaction with trainings, learning, and areas of growth for student support staff. Manages trainees and communicates effectively with area management on trainee performance.
This position maintains a caseload of students as a Newcomb-Tulane College Advisor as well as be able to support the Success Coaching staff in being fully by being fully trained as an Academic Advisor and a Success Coach. This person provides a high-quality academic support experience designed to meet the needs of all students. This includes providing students with guidance and connecting students to services and resources to develop a personalized plan for student success. The Senior Academic Success Coach monitors and tracks student success and progress and records and reports results via various student reporting systems (Salesforce, Banner, SARS). This position participates on committees, adheres to work standards, and performs other duties as assigned.
In direct support of the University’s goal to improve its retention and graduation rates, the Senior Academic Success Coach closely monitors trends and enrollment to better understand training needs for student support staff and student success outcomes. This position uses research and best practices to continually improve their academic coaching skills and practices.
·Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience in advising, teaching, coaching, counseling, social work, mentoring or a related field
OR
·High School Diploma (or Equivalent) with 8 years of experience in advising, teaching, coaching, counseling, social work, mentoring or a related field
