Title I Teacher Position Sylvan of Metairie

Sylvan of Metairie and New Orleans is looking for dedicated teachers for its Title I program in the Greater New Orleans Area for this upcoming school year 2023-2024. This position will start in August/September 2023. We have positions in New Orleans, New Orleans East, and on the Westbank. Sylvan Title I positions offer flexible work schedules both during school hours and after school hours at our school sites. Schedules vary from 4 to 20 hours per week. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Attend training sessions to learn the Sylvan programs and deliver designated instructional models and strategies in elementary and/or high school level math, reading, and/or writing skills.
• Deliver Sylvan provided individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans.
• Be able to deliver lessons on iPads.
• Ensure supervision of students at all times, including escorting students safely to and from classroom.
• Establish and maintains student forms and files as required by company, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be willing to work in school.
• Must pass background check.
• Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Requires a bachelor’s degree. A Teaching Certificate is required for this position. Tutor and/or teaching experience preferred.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
