Job Abstract

Kelly Science is seeking a Scientist to join a growing clients separation sciences team in Stamford, CT.

Employment Type: 6–12-month contract with the possibility of conversion to a permanent employee.

Summary:
As a Scientist within the separation sciences division, you will be working with a team of experienced separation colleagues to execute identification and/on quantification of molecules in complex mixtures. This role will be heavily focused on ion chromatography and size exclusion chromatography.

Job duties include:

• Perform analysis of small molecules and polymers utilizing Ion Chromatography (IC), Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS), Gas Chromatography (GC), Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) and High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC).
  

• Document all work in electronic notebooks, write technical reports, and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
  

• Manage daily laboratory activities including instrument maintenance, chemical waste, and daily housekeeping.
  

• Interact with other teams within the facility including research and development, process development, plants, technical services and other members within the analytical department.

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in Chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related scientific field. Advanced degree is a plus.  
  

• 2-5 years of hands-on experience with Ion Chromatography and Size Exclusion Chromatography required.  Additional experience with LC-MS, HPLC, UPLC and/or GC-MS strongly preferred.
  

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, and ability to work well in a team setting.
