Job Description Summary
The Director of Undergraduate Admission has the primary responsibility for leading and directing student recruitment and admissions for undergraduate populations including, but not limited to, first-time freshman, transfer students, and non-traditional learners. The incumbent is expected to develop data-informed recruitment plans to meet quantity and quality goals, monitor the daily work of staff, and assess the efficacy of all recruitment practices. The Director will be a communicator, a collaborator, and an innovator in the field of admissions and recruitment. Partner with the appropriate faculty and administrators, including various staff from across campus. Lead recruitment teams to ensure a smooth process for all applicants.
Minimum Qualifications
5 years of College / University admissions office experience.
5 years of College / University admissions recruitment experience with understanding of admission processes and best practices.
2 years of previous experience in CRM tools – preferably Technolutions Slate.
1 year of Higher Education administration/management.
Previous Supervisory experience.
Executes strong leadership skills.
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusivity.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with undergraduate admissions.
Previous experience creating domestic and international recruitment plans.
Previous experience managing professional staff.
Proven ability to meet recruitment goals.

Specific Duties
Directs and leads overarching office supervision of the recruitment division as part of the Admissions Leadership Team. Additionally, oversees strategic enrollment and recruitment projects for undergraduate admission within the office. This includes outreach efforts, communication development and execution, ownership of key initiatives within the CRM system, recruiting policy and procedures. Understands the values of the recruitment of underrepresented student populations and working in a diverse context, as well as te needs of the undergraduate learner.

Directs and leads the admissions/recruitment division including hiring, training, coaching, and providing professional development direction for assigned admissions team members. Lead the staff in admission standards and practices. Represent the university to large audiences and make formal presentations to encourage enrollment.

Establishes annual work plan with measurable outcomes and assessment methods; reports statistical and qualitative information/analysis; informs operating budget; provides for fiscal accountability and effective fund management; and prepares and presents operating and summary reports, assessments and audit reports. Facilitate meetings and collaborations with appropriate leadership to set enrollment targets, review strategies, and seek advisement on recruitment plans. Perform data searches about individual applicants and generate reports in databases so that data-driven decisions can be made regarding recruitment.

Write and implement annual domestic and international recruitment plan that offers insights on strategic initiatives for recruitment of new students. This includes but not limited to: providing data on feeder high schools, community college, and other transfer venues. Stay abreast the changes within dual enrollment throughout the state of California and how that will impact our college going students.

Recruit students to assigned programs. This includes visiting venues where prospective students are located. Evaluate admission applications to the university and make apporpriate decisions regarding admission. This may include, calculating GPAs, reviewing essays and recommendations, following up on applications and providing accurate information to the student as well as interactions within multiple media sources.

Recruit, hire, train, and provide continuous training opportunities to staff members within the unit. Annually provide feedback on performance and increase productivity within the team.
