Position Overview
The Respiratory Clinical Liaison is an experienced Respiratory Therapist (RCP) or Registered Nurse (RN) who is a member of our Sales team and works with referral sources in assisting case managers, discharge planners, clients and their families with the transition from facility to home based care. The Clinical Liaison uses their clinical respiratory knowledge to work with the regional Aveanna Healthcare, Medical Solutions locations to insure a positive outcome for the clients, families, physicians and case managers.
Essential Job Functions
The Respiratory Clinical Liaison will utilize their respiratory clinical expertise to develop sales strategies to develop and establish Aveanna Medical Solution’s in-home respiratory management program and respiratory products with referral sources to establish new business within the assigned territory.
Schedule and perform in-services and educational meetings on in-home respiratory management program and equipment with referral sources. Referral sources include physicians, case managers, discharge planners, social workers, and mid-level practitioners.
Collaborate with all departments at AMS to ensure that required documentation is completed and information about patient discharge relayed to the appropriate source.
Collaborate with physicians, case managers, discharge planners, social workers, and hospital staff to make the patient’s transition from the hospital setting to the home setting efficient and problem free.
Ensure that documentation for new patient referrals is complete; Work with AMS Intake Team to ensure that all appropriate physician orders and documentation are obtained to properly bill and set up the patient on respiratory services with home medical equipment.
Respond to patient and hospital staff/physician’s questions and concerns; assess patient needs, status, and respiratory equipment tolerance issues, troubleshoot and make recommendations as indicated or requested.
Interface with physicians, discharge planners, and case managers to obtain necessary information concerning patient discharge and current status.
Respond and follow up with Revenue and Patient Care requests, including insurance issues, medical eligibility, and clinical information for authorizations.
Assist with special projects such as home medical equipment reimbursement and pricing.
Requirements
Current RN or RCP license in the state or states where you will be working
Established relationships with the Pulmonary Physicians, case managers, & Hospitalists within the local hospitals in assigned territory.
Knowledge of Respiratory Equipment and an understanding of compliance with adherence to regulations
Associate or Bachelor degree in Nursing or Respiratory Therapy from state accredited program
Ability and willingness to travel locally
Preferences
Recent Respiratory Experience preferred with current pulmonary contacts at local hospitals, clinics and offices
Previous experience with adult and/or pediatric hospital staff

Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
