Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of the glycine unit and site utilities
Review and evaluate capital projects as required. Track process yields, establish targets/goals. Recommend and show improvement in yields in Glycine
Assist in the evaluation of any new products and or processes
Review efficiency of plant processes and evaluate equipment and process vs. new technology
Assist in the preparation of the capital budget by recommending payback improvement projects
Provide input on equipment and instrumentation selections
Develop and maintain trends for glycine and DAXAD and any other process that becomes part of the Company site
Learn plant processes and become technical expert both internally and externally. Lead troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis of any off spec production or process issues
Modify (or develop new) procedures as required in accordance with plant policies for any such changes (MOC, etc.)
Assist with loss prevention reviews and recommend/incorporate safety controls on new
Qualifications
5+ years of experience with the essential duties and responsibilities described above
A BS or higher in Chemical Engineering
Experience with Process Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment Reviews
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Working knowledge of office productivity software, including spreadsheets and word processing
Experience with standard operating procedures
Familiarity with health and safety regulations, PSM/RMP
High-level knowledge of process control software systems
Experience working with AutoCAD as well as experience working with cGMP processes
Experience working with boilers, compressors, chillers and cooling towers
