The Research Development Coordinator supports the mission of the Research Development office by helping to catalyze large, grant-funded research and scholarship in keeping with grant seeker needs, with a focus on tracking client inquiries, interests, and projects to ensure the efficient and timely support from the team. Works with the Director and the Office of Community Relations to enhance broader impacts. The Research Development Coordinator will assist with the creation of proposal development resources, the development of website content, and with the limited submission processes. The position will report to and provide skilled support to the Program Manager for Funding Opportunities and the Director of Research Development.
The RD Coordinator will assist the office of Research Development with research development activities in support of Yale’s research goals and objectives, including but not limited to supporting large and complex proposal development efforts. Serving as a subject matter resource on topics related to proposals and grant seeking. Identifying funding opportunities of interest to Yale faculty. Facilitating collaboration between faculty members. Facilitating outreach support for broader impacts including creating broader impact plans tailored to requirements of large grant proposals.
Maintaining and monitoring internal database of clientele and funding opportunities, including tracking and quarterly reporting on submissions, support, and wins. Developing/maintaining proposal template materials, proposal library, and other resources. Serving as a liaison between the RD office and other groups and units within Yale including assisting with external PR and publicity. Developing and maintaining relationships with broad array of external editors, graphic designers, and reviewers across disciplines. Contributing to faculty grant writing workshops/trainings. Supporting the limited submission process. Advanced computer skills including use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Pro. 1. Assumes primary responsibility for a program, service, activity, operation or function in an assigned area. Develops objectives, practice and procedure and identifies resources to ensure accomplishment of operational goals. 2. Coordinates day-to-day operations in order to achieve designated goals. Ensures effective management and leads the development and implementation of best practices. 3. Designs and implements quality control metrics to identify areas of risk. Analyzes, recommends, and implements strategic solutions to minimize risk. 4. Develops a variety of complex report and other written materials. 5. Provides guidance to and collaboration with internal and external partners as necessary. 6. Develops, oversees and monitors budgets. 7. Develops and maintains specialized training. 8. Performs other duties as assigned. Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience.
