Provides social work service for all patients and families in Assessment Center, Labor and Delivery, NICU and Oncology. Performs various other duties assigned according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman’s Hospital.
Requirements:
- Requires Master’s Degree from an accredited school of social work (LMSW) or LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) licensure.
- Requires a minimum of one year prior experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Requires considerable knowledge of crisis counseling and support group facilitation in a hospital setting, and a good knowledge of community resources (including financial assistance programs) and the legal aspects of social service delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Provides the following services to patients (including, but not limited to): individual supportive counseling; grief counseling; crisis intervention; psychosocial assessments; spiritual assessments; discharge assessment and planning; completion of all related adoption paperwork; completion of all related paperwork for patients who are incarcerated; mandatory reports to appropriate state agency; coordinates referrals to and gives resource information for appropriate community agencies.
- Provides services to the following patient populations (including, but not limited to): patients newly diagnosed with cancer; patients experiencing stillbirths, miscarriages, infant death; OB patients whose age is 17 or under; patients when death is anticipated; patients making adoption plans; patients who are incarcerated; patients with length of stay >3 days; and all NICU admits.

Rotating Saturdays
Pay Range:
Hourly/Non-Exempt
LMSW: $22.91 - $33.22
LCSW: $25.20 - $36.54
Evening Differential: $4.00/hour
Night Differential: $5.00/hour
Weekend Differential: $7.00/hour
