Job Description
Maintains a high level of expertise and understands the functions of:
the Louisiana Opioid Surveillance Initiative (LOSI);
the cooperative agreement(s) between the state and the federal government to support efforts related to drug-related public health surveillance, prevention, intervention, and treatment; and
implementation of a data-to-action framework in response to the national drug overdose crisis.
Tracks the status of surveillance projects and grant deliverables to enhance the ability of OPH to collect and report nationally and state reportable data and interface those data to achieve the goals of the program.
Manages projects and timelines to ensure work supports the data-to-action framework, maintain estimates of project completion dates and time required.
Drafts and submits required documentation on project design, implementation, status, and evaluation.
Engages with collaborators and vendors to ensure all resources are available for performance of timely and accurate work.
Attends grantee trainings, monthly check-ins, planning meetings, learning opportunities; represents the Bureau through virtual attendance at meetings.
Assists with the design and dissemination of analyses and reports.
Collaborates with staff, vendors, sub-recipients, and partners to coordinate and facilitate grant deliverables and surveillance projects.
Researches best practices and evidence-based approaches to data analysis and dissemination.
Maintains understanding of state procurement, contracting, fiscal, budget, and travel guidelines. Employs expertise to ensure transactions are submitted using state requirements.
Works collaboratively with other OPH programs, LDH agencies and leadership, and other public entities to support the state’s response to the overdose crisis.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree, or Associate’s degree plus 3 years of professional experience, or 6 years of professional work experience.
Minimum 5 years professional experience performing administrative functions within an office environment or healthcare field.
Minimum 3 years professional experience with project/program coordination.
Excellent analytical skills, effective organizational and time management skills.
Great attention to detail and follow up.
Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities.
Proficient in the use of Zoom, Teams, and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.
DESIRED:
Advanced degree in a health-related or administrative field.
Minimum 6 years professional experience performing administrative functions within an office environment or health care field.
Minimum 4 years professional experience with project/program coordination.
Minimum 1 year professional supervisory experience.
Relevant industry certifications.
