As Ferring’s Visions Bistro Server you will provide guests at the restaurant and meeting events with the highest standards of food and beverage service.

Responsibilities:
- Follows and reinforces the service vision for Ferring. Follows all house rules and safety regulations.
- Creates a good working relationship with co-workers and maintain a courteous attitude towards the guests, management, and all other employees of Ferring.
- Introduces oneself to the guest while on station and projects a warm cheerful, enthusiastic desire to be of service.
- Creates and maintains an environment at Ferring and the restaurant designed to stimulate all senses through personal services, amenities and experience provided by employees.
- Cleans tables, set up and breaks down buffet tables completely, with all food service and decorative equipment to include china, glass, silver, dishes, woks, carving boards, props, bricks, glass blocks, lights, serving utensils and all other equipment needed.
- Transports all equipment into and out of all service areas. Stores all equipment accordingly.
- Inspects linen for stains and holes, removes and replaces unacceptable linen prior to setting table.
- Ensures each service piece of china, glass, and silver is spotless before it is placed on the table. Properly wipes and cleans each piece of silver with a cloth to polish, prior to setting. Sets up each table uniformly.
- Keeps current on pulse of the guests, constantly seeking opportunities to enhance their experience and exceed their expectations.
- Reviews all stations prior to guest arrival, sees that set-ups are complete, accurate and clean.
- Brings any challenges that may occur or any special request by guests to restaurant supervision’s attention as soon as possible.
- Remains available to work all events to include breakfast, lunch, dinner, receptions, coffee breaks and all other events that may arise.
- Takes accurate a la carte orders from the guest and to communicate it to the kitchen using handwritten dupes (tickets).
- Takes post at the assigned work area, in uniform, and ready to work at the time scheduled.
- Places printed menus, journals, party favors, pens, pads, flowers, and all other decorative items on each table as requested by the guest or management.
- Attends pre-meal briefings. Reads daily orders pertaining to assigned events. Reads all work orders, and station assignments.
- Provides proper wine, champagne and beverage service.
- Serves and clears all food and beverage items to guests in accordance with all instructions and training received, and signals to do so given by the manager.
- Prepares butters and creamers for service, brew coffee and clean coffee machine.
- Handles food items with regard to final presentation. Takes rolls and Danish from boxes and places them in baskets. Sets cheese displays. Puts salad dressing on salad and other similar duties.
- Handles all set up replenishing and break down in the following areas: beverage station, dining room, salad bar and all buffet stations. Ensuring adequate supplies of food, beverage, china, glass, silver, trays, breads and any other products needed for the operation of the facility.
- Places, moves or breaks down tables and chairs as needed in the facility. When weather warranted, setting up the outside dining area using the same specifications.
- Confers details of events with manager and fields requests for last minute changes.
- Performs all other reasonable tasks requested by management.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Vocational Certification required.
- 2 years’ minimum experience in fine dining establishment or luxury hotel experience
- Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
- Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office. Including word, excel, power point etc.
- Clean uniforms and impeccable personal grooming in compliance with company standards. Wears a name tag as part of proper uniform at all times.
- Availability to work all shifts assigned.
- Skilled and able to perform various tasks in table service to include silver style “French” or “Russian” service, including ability to carry 8 to 10 dinners on a tray above the shoulder. Carries 3 to 4 plates by arm service. Able to clear by arm service.
- Proven success in customer service, relationship building, taking accountability, attention to detail, fostering teamwork, thinking critically and continuous improvement.

Our Compensation and Benefits
At Ferring, base salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $50,000 to $74,360, which is the reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount paid may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education and primary work location. Additional compensation for this role will be provided based on competitive annual incentive compensation targets in the form of an annual bonus - payouts are based on individual and company performance.
Benefits for this role include: comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with a premium differential, inverse to base salary, to be paid by employees; a 401k plan and company match; short and long-term disability coverage; basic life insurance; wellness benefits; reimbursement for certain tuition expenses; sick time frontloaded yearly of 40 hours, or higher if state or local law requires; vacation time for full time employees to accrue between 112.5 and 150 hours yearly in the first four (4) years of employment, and additional accruals starting in the fifth (5th) year of employment; and 12 to 13 paid holidays per year. For roles that are not field-based, Ferring has a policy that allows employees to work up to two days from home and three at a Ferring site, weekly.
