Civil Engineer - Transportation PS&E / Schematic Design - Houston, TX

Halff has an opening for a Civil Engineer (EIT/PE) in our Houston, TX office with our Transportation team. The ideal candidate would have experience in Transportation Design and PS&E / Schematic Design. This position will be primarily responsible for performing Transportation Design on roadway & highway design projects for TxDOT and other agencies. Civil Engineer - Transportation PS&E / Schematic Design Responsibilities:

Works under a Team Leader in the development of roadway design and PS&E/Schematic Design
Manages transportation projects or tasks in support of business needs
Assists in managing the workload of design staff including other Engineers, EITs, and technical staff
Assists in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules
Reviews transportation designs and detailed plans for accuracy and consistency
Reports on project progress
Collaborates with clients and other consultants
Assists with business development activities

Civil Engineer - Transportation PS&E / Schematic Design Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
Passed Professional Engineer (P.E.) exam
Professional Engineer License (P.E.) in the State of Texas preferred
A minimum of 1 to 6 years of progressive design experience on transportation projects
MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer (ORD) experience
Experience managing design and plan production
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong decision making skills
A positive attitude, be self-directed yet a team player, and have a focus on quality, integrity and success
