We free everyone to safely use any technology—anywhere, on any device or app. Our Workforce and Customer Identity Clouds enable secure yet flexible access, authentication, and automation that transforms how people move through the digital world, putting Identity at the heart of business security and growth.

The Workforce Identity Specialist Team
The Senior Solutions Specialist - MSFT IAM at Okta is a senior technical resource charged with helping our prospects and customers solve complex challenges related to Identity. The Solutions Specialist is a team player that can create and deliver custom/purpose-built demonstrations or Proofs of Concept, to various levels of stakeholders within an organization (developer, product managers, IT, marketing, C-Suite and others). The Specialist possesses deep understanding in one or more areas of technology (e.g. OIDC) and/or specific market (e.g. Financial Services, but from a security perspective). The Specialist also has the rare combination of technical savviness and business acumen and you’re looking for a career where you can utilize both.
The PreSales Solutions Specialist Opportunity
As a PreSales Solutions Specialist at Okta, you will be challenged daily to show prospects and customers how Okta can help solve their business challenges in environments where Microsoft’s solutions may already be deployed, or are being considered for deployment in areas where Okta typically addresses technical or business requirements. In particular, we are searching for individuals that have experience deploying Microsoft identity and access management solutions in large and complex environments, while having a firm understanding of the IDAM/CIAM ecosystem and how other vendors (e.g. Okta) address similar needs. This hands-on experience and exposure to the operational aspect of real customer deployments is what sets you apart and provides credibility to the architectures you design and propose. Your proven experience with other products and legacy solutions will be invaluable when assessing a customer’s existing challenges and planning the roadmap for them to modernize and transition to the Okta platform.
What you’ll be doing

- Deliver hands-on POVs showing how Okta integrates with the many different Microsoft products including Microsoft Entra, Intune, Windows Hello for Business, on-premise Active Directory, Azure VDI etc
- Utilize your understanding of a customer’s holistic environment including Endpoint Detection & Response(EDR), firewalls, proxies, VPN, CASB, databases, and applications to ensure that the proposed architecture is viable and can be implemented by the customer or professional services.
- Use a variety of tools to help depict complex architecture diagrams and sequence diagrams that include various Okta Products in the solution.
- Use your understanding of various protocols (SAML, OAUTH/OIDC, KERBEROS, SCIM, etc.) to plan multi-protocol integration architectures that incorporate Okta with various technologies.
- Distill and communicate customer needs and feedback to Product Management, Engineering, Marketing and Sales. In particular, support pre-sales enablement sessions by providing expert know-how in all aspects of Microsoft-competitive situations
What you’ll bring to the role
- A passion to serve the customer, which has played out in some customer-facing role like consulting or support.
- An ability to quickly communicate complex ideas around a technical topic, ideally on the fly at a whiteboard, to various audiences.
- Experience with multiple security protocols such as: OAuth, SAML, LDAP, SCIM, etc.
- Hands-on experience with deploying Microsoft solutions not limited to Identity(Entra), but also Intune(MDM), Defender(EDR), Conditional access policy, cert based authentication(CBA) etc.
- Understanding of REST APIs, web and mobile application architecture, IP-based real-time communications.

- An individual that understands the implications of scale, deadlines, and external influences.
- Typically 25% travel
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or a comparable field is preferred.
