Job Summary/Basic Function | The Strength & Conditioning Coach will provide expertise, guidance, training, coaching and motivation in the area of strength training and physical conditioning for all student-athletes. The coach will also work as a consultant to head coaches in the athletics department. This coach will design, coordinate and implement a strength and conditioning program that develops sport specific athletic skills for all nineteen intercollegiate athletic programs. This coach will implement periodic and regular testing of student-athletes’ strength and conditioning gains to determine the program’s effectiveness and maintain accurate records of student-athletes’ progress. This coach is also responsible for some scheduling, staffing, maintenance and upkeep of the Carpenter-Trout Strength Training facility. This coach will work in close communication with the MU Athletic Training staff. This coach is expected to strictly adhere to established NCAA, PSAC and Millersville University rules and regulations. This position reports to the Athletic Director.
Contract renewed on annual basis.

Required Qualifications | - NCAA recognized current certification either as:
- Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) OR
- Strength & Conditioning Coach Certification (SCCC) OR
- other recognized professional certification.
- Knowledge of Strength & Conditioning training, speed agility, flexibility and cardiovascular conditioning.
- Current certification, or ability to be certified in first aid & CPR/AED.
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Maintain healthy professional working relationships with a wide variety of coaches, student athletes of diverse backgrounds.
- Develop leadership, discipline, commitment, responsibility, accountability, work ethic, team work for MU Athletic program.
- Knowledge & commitment to rules & regulations of NCAA, PSAC and Millersville University.
- Ability to strictly adhere to established NCAA, PSAC, Millersville University rules and regulations.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
- Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Successful interview.
- Successful completion of three background checks.
