Farmers Group (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks an Agile Dev Team Member V to design and develop computer programs and monitor the work of junior staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Specific duties include: develop computer programs FFQ Auto, FFQ Home, and Angular Components; perform evaluation of packaged software; conduct system studies to analyze and evaluate manual and computerized processes to improve efficiency; develop techniques for automating processes as appropriate; conduct Rough Order of Magnitude for development of new applications and review work of others; determine the need for system security, backup/recovery, data conversion, plan and control development, testing, and implementation of systems and manage technical activities; work with business and responds to Production Support issues; research new technologies to extend the value that Farmers Insurance can offer to our customers; analyze and document the requirements and approaches to data conversion and data modeling; conduct system studies, analyzing existing computerized and manual processes to improve efficiency; research and develop techniques for A/B Testing; support implementation/training activities; troubleshoot system environmental issues; and confer with other integration system teams to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities and performance requirements. Option to work remotely is available.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, or closely related field of study, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Java Developer, or similar software development position. In the alternative, will accept a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, or a closely related field of study, plus 3 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Java Developer, or similar software development position. Must have 3 years of experience working with each of the following: UI technologies including HTML, CSS, jQuery, JSON, Ajax, Angular, ReactJS, NodeJS, Bootstrap, Flexbox and JavaScript; IDEs including Eclipse, Spring Tool Suite, IntelliJ, Visual Studio Code, and Unit testing with Jasmine, Karma; JAVA (Servlets and JSP) and REST Web services; web application design and development with Spring framework modules including Spring MVC and Spring Boot; general relational database concepts; databases MySql, DB2, and PostgreSQL; cloud technologies including Heroku (PaaS); Application Servers including Apache Tomcat; Build Tools including Webpack, Gulp, and Grant; unit testing with JUnit and Mockito; source code repository tools GIT and Tortoise SVN; build tools Maven and Ant; tool-based code quality analysis with SonarQube and Veracode; waterfall, iterative, Agile methodologies, and onshore-offshore delivery; Rational Application Development (RAD), Eclipse, and IntelliJ; and GIT and GitHub version control and source code repository tools. Must also have 2 years of working with and writing System Requirement specification documents from BRD (Business Requirement Documents). Option to work remotely is available.
