We are looking for a Senior Associate to join our New York City office. The primary responsibilities and qualifications include:
Develop financial models for the evaluation of potential investments in debt and equity across all real estate asset classes, reviewing potential transactions for the proper balance of feasibility and risk.
Assist in commercial loan underwriting conducting initial due diligence for loan transactions; Assist in the preparation of loan commitments to borrowers.
Receive financial data from Borrowers, analyzing hundreds of revenue and expense line items. Taking this data, after analysis, to build, incorporate and report on using the firms proprietary financial model systems.
Analyzing complex financial documents and calculations, including but limited to: EBITDAR, loan to value, discounted cash flows, debt service coverage, interest coverage, fixed charge coverage, rent coverage, revenue source analysis as well as operating margin calculations.
Interpersonal skills required to communicate with borrowers related to their property, general liability, excess liability, automobile and professional insurance coverages. Including reviewing all policies prior to coordinating approvals alongside the firms third party insurance consultant.
Review Borrowers Annual Proformas and Budgets for reasonableness, compare to prior third party appraisals and report to Senior Management, Credit Committee as well as Third Party Stakeholders.
Analyze historical and borrower projected financials to determine feasibility of borrower plan, and escalating any potential areas of concern.
Maintain direct daily interface with borrowers, financing counterparties, and firm stakeholders.
Assist in origination and underwriting through data analytics, participation in site visits, and borrower financial and operational risk due diligence.
Negotiate deal terms with potential clients and brokers.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance or related field.

Greystone Monticello offers a competitive base salary and bonus. The base salary for this position is $140,000/year. The specific compensation that will be offered is based on an understanding of the hired candidates' qualifications at the time of hire. Employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on employee work performance reviewed during the annual review process.
